overarching objective is the advanced structural characterization of the catalytic materials from work packages 1 and 3. The goal is to identify active phases and reactive sites, to shed light on the role of the support, and to track the evolution of the promoter to enable the knowledge-based catalyst development in work package 1 and the understanding of deactivation and regeneration mechanisms in work package 3. The combination of experimental characterisation and theoretical simulation\/modelling is the leading-edge in the modern catalysis
