He is also full professor for solar photovoltaics technology at the Hochschule fuer Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin and is the current Chair of the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Photovoltaics. Before coming to Berlin, the Dutch physicist worked as staff scientist at Akzo Nobel and R&amp;D manager for solar cell company HyET Solar, a joint venture between Akzo Nobel and Shell Solar before being sold to Vattenfall\/Nuon.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section methods, Rutger over 10 years ago started to broaden the scope of his work from solar energy towards sustainable fuels and chemicals, initially working on catalyst and reactor development for hydrogen generation by water electrolysis.<\/p>\n<p>As HZB project leader of a large national project on thin film based catalysts ('<i>Catlab, Thin-Film Catalysts for Sustainable Chemistry with Renewable Energies<\/i>') Rutger was very interested in participating in the CARE-O-SENE project in order to utilise the newly developed materials and methods for the further development of products and reactions, in particular the Fischer-Tropsch process.<\/p>\n<p>Rutger holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Free University Amsterdam, The
